Mr. Shumway started tae kwon do when he was six years old and it quickly became his passion. He loved the energy and intensity his instructor had when he was teaching, so he went to every class he could. In high school he took a break from tae kwon do because he was three sport athlete. He graduated in 2014.

Growing up Mr. O has always enjoyed working with kids. In the summertime, he worked at a church camp for a week as an assistant counselor, leading groups of kids through all the camp activities. Mr. O is now 30 years old and has worked in a handful of positions including: working the lanes and kitchen at Sussex Bowl, being a Teller and Manager at Guaranty Bank, and having a customer service position at Target. He is very thankful for the opportunity to be part of the FTKDC Family because he enjoys working one on one with families and helping them become the best that they can be.
In the future, Mr. O would like to manage and own a FTKDC location. He has grown to love the school and all that it does for the families in the community, so he wants to own a part of that and help make it grow!
In his free time he enjoys playing video games and spending quality time with his wife. Mr. O and his wife like to go out to eat, go to the movies, and take road trips to neat places like House On The Rock. Their next destination to visit is the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Indiana.

In the future she hopes to take part in the growth of FTKDC and become a part of a larger administrative team, where she can help lead new employees and assist them in carrying out FTKDC’s values. She also hopes to continue on with taking lessons and move to a higher belt.
Most of Ms. James’ free time is spent with family, friends, her boyfriend (Josh) and her cat (Tucker). Mr. Cole was born in New York where he started training in martial arts at the age of 5 and earned his black belt when he was 12. He studied Mass Media and Communications before moving to Wisconsin where his daughter was born. He went into the military for 8 years where he served as a Hospital Core Man for a Recon Team. After returning home he worked with kids with Autism and Prader Willi Syndrome for some time before he met Ms. Barczak who introduced him to Master Elliott. After a few classes and training he knew he wanted to be an instructor at FTKDC.
Mr. Cole would like to open up a FTKDC in the future where his daughter can instruct and he could eventually leave her the school to run on her own. He would like to be successful enough to travel all over the world to study new languages, cultures, and martial arts. He wants to help others and bridge the gaps between each martial art so everyone can focus on the most important thing, helping people.
In his free time he likes to spend time with his daughter and family, watch movies, play video games, and study tae kwon do.
Ms. Barczak has lived a very active lifestyle her entire life, taking part in many sports and activities including: basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, and tae kwon do. Her junior year of high school she decided to fully commit herself to basketball and earned a Division II scholarship to Hillsdale College in Michigan where she played for 4 years and graduated with a Financial Management Degree. After graduating college, she worked in an accounting department before becoming a personal trainer and fitness manager at a fitness center, where she met Master Elliott. After training with him for a few years, she decided to take a leap of faith and open a Family Tae Kwon Do Champions in Oconomowoc!
Family Tae Kwon Do Champions has changed her life in so many positive ways, but the way it’s impacted her the most is that it has given her a platform to help other people. She says there is no better feeling than to see a student improve not only as a martial artist, but in other areas of life, especially: confidence, health, and overall happiness. Her goal is to help other people with these same intentions open their own Family Tae Kwon Do Champions across the nation so they can live a happier, more fulfilled life!
In her free time she loves to work out at the gym, run outside, play tennis, and find other fun ways to stay active. She also loves watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading.
Ever since Ms. Rosenthal was little she has loved to play video games and the main hero characters that were always there to save the day, so she decided to go to school for it! She graduated with two associate degrees, one in Animation and the other in Simulations and Gaming. Unfortunately, the market in Wisconsin isn’t too big for these fields, so she decided to start her own shop call AFKcrafts in 2014. She put her skills to work to make all kinds of different crafty things, but she felt like she hit a roadblock. Her dad came to her and told her about the opportunity to run a Family Tae Kwon Do Champions location and she knew that it was what would help her gain confidence and better herself to help pursue her goals in life. She is now the Marketing Director at the Menomonee Falls location and couldn’t be more excited!
For as long as she can remember she has been trying to find something active and fun to do and has found that with Family Tae Kwon Do Champions. She believes Tae Kwon Do is not only fun, but a great workout. She hopes to continue doing it for the rest of her life. As someone who is used to sitting in front of a computer for a majority of her day, she hopes that she can inspire others who are in the same boat to come join our family, have fun, and get some exercise! She believes Family Tae Kwon Do Champions is the perfect place to grow and become a better ‘you’ and she wants to help others do exactly that!
In her free time Ms. Rosenthal enjoys playing video games and doing crafts or anything artsy. When she has time she still keeps up with AFKcrafts where she paints, sculpts, and makes things in 3D too!
Ever since he was young Mr. Sizemore’s family moved a lot, so he has had a very travel- filled life. Even after leaving the nest his urge to travel and try new things still continues to this day. He has been all over the country and has also trained in various martial arts for 5 years. Once he moved to Wisconsin he decided to go to school for Animation and Game Development. He knew that his path in life was going to be in either Game Development or Physical Fitness, so he decided to get his Personal Trainer Certificate from the International Sports Sciences Association. When he found out about Family Tae Kwon Do Champions he knew it was a great choice to help him achieve one of his dream careers!
Mr. Sizemore’s main goal at Family Tae Kwon Do Champions is to help teach others martial arts. That doesn’t just include the kicks and punches, but the mentality of it too. There is a lot more to martial arts than a lot of people think and at FTKDC he wants to spread that awareness and help others become the best individual they can be!
In his free time he likes to play video games and adventure in a fantasy world. On the kind of opposite end of the spectrum he likes to plan out spreadsheets for a variety of things. As someone who loves game design he is always thinking of new ideas and mechanics for things. His spreadsheets also include meal plans and other real- life applications.
It wasn’t until later in life that Mr. Willerton started practicing Tae Kwon Do. He initially joined alongside his eldest son and quickly developed a passion for the art. He really loved the exercise combined with learning self-defense skills. After quickly climbing the ranks, he took several years off to obtain a degree in International Business and further his career. He spent some time in the auto racing industry, but Tae Kwon Do would always cross his mind. After Master Elliot started Family Tae Kwon Do Champions, he knew it was time to return and continue his training.
Mr. Willerton made the transition from student to teacher after judging for the first time at a Tae Kwon Do tournament. Seeing the competitor’s emotion and desire from a different point of view was enough for him to decide that he was ready to hang up his sparring gear and dedicate his time to helping others reach their full potential. This experience was the first step that directed him to where he is today. When the chance arrived for Mr. Willerton to open a dojang in Waukesha, his family decided the timing was right and they were willing to turn our lives upside down to pursue this dream. Now he has the pleasure of seeing the determination and joy on his students’ faces as they develop their own passion for martial arts.
Mr. Willerton’s favorite thing to do is to spend time with his family. He is very grateful that they can be together inside the dojang as well as at home. His family enjoys traveling whenever they have the opportunity. They have been to many places here in the United States as well as abroad. He loves to experience the culture and cuisine of different places; their favorite destination is the Philippines.
